Could Autumn Open New Opportunities for Ludlow Sellers?

As we move towards autumn, the property market is offering buyers more choice – and creating a more competitive environment for sellers in Ludlow and the surrounding area.
According to Rightmove, the average asking price of a newly listed property fell 2.0% in August to £364,999, the largest August fall since 2018. Meanwhile, the number of homes available for sale nationally is at a 12-year high for this time of year.
For Ludlow sellers, that makes pricing and presentation particularly important. Buyers with several options can be more selective, so launching at a realistic price and showcasing a property's best features can help generate interest from the outset.
The outlook isn't all about increased competition. Rightmove has also recorded a 5% rise in buyer demand since late July, which could help bring renewed momentum to the market as summer ends.
Nock Deighton Director Andrew Ainge believes the signs are encouraging as the market moves into autumn:
“We’re seeing encouraging signs as we move towards autumn, with buyers beginning to re-engage after the summer. For sellers thinking about making a move, now is a good time to prepare and make sure their property is positioned well for the market.”
For homeowners who have spent the summer considering their next move, September could therefore be a good time to put those plans into action.
