The Bridgnorth Property Market Update | August 2026

The latest Rightmove House Price Index highlights a seasonal shift in the market, with average asking prices falling by 1.0% during August. However, this isn't being driven by falling demand—it's the result of more sellers competing for buyers' attention.

In Bridgnorth, we're continuing to see strong levels of buyer interest. The difference is that buyers now have more choice, so they're taking a little longer to make confident decisions. That's creating a market where preparation, presentation and pricing all play an even bigger role in achieving a successful sale.

There are encouraging signs too. The average two-year fixed mortgage rate has fallen to 4.92%, helping to improve affordability and giving many buyers greater confidence to move.

For sellers, pricing correctly from the outset has never been more important. Rightmove's research shows that nearly three-quarters of homes sold this year achieved a sale without needing a price reduction, highlighting the value of getting the initial asking price right.
