Coalbrookdale is a short distance from the renowned and historic former industrial town of Ironbridge and is located on the banks of The River Severn. The river cuts its way through the steep and wooded slopes of The Gorge and forms one of the most striking and distinctive landscapes in England and is worthy of its World Heritage Site designation.

This remarkable area was at the heart of the Industrial Revolution in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and became world famous in 1779 when the world's first Iron Bridge was cast at nearby Coalbrookdale an area synonymous with the Darby family. The area is steeped in industrial heritage with local museums including the renowned Blists Hill Victorian Town Open Air Village at nearby Madeley and the world-famous China Works at Coalport.

Coalbrookdale has a thriving local community and is only a short distance from Ironbridge town which offers good local amenities including Coalbrookdale primary school, chemist, doctors, post office, Coop and an abundance of restaurants and public houses.

Telford affords access to the national Rail network via Telford and Wellington Stations both within 5.5. miles of the property. There are several junctions in Telford to access the M54 and on to the National Motorway Network.

This stunning property is located at the bottom of Crackshall Lane and benefits from wonderful space, fabulous views and a rural feel. As you drive down Crackshall lane you approach the property via a long sweeping drive that rejoins the lane further on.

The Main House

This wonderful family home offers an abundance of charm and character and has been improved by the current owners through refurbishment and increased living accommodation.

The accommodation on the ground floor has been opened up to create a more open plan feel while still having separate rooms. The accommodation on the ground floor includes a country style kitchen, a real hub of the home with its central island. Through a square arch you find yourself in the warm lounge that benefits from a large charming inglenook style fire place with log burner. The addition of two sets of French doors takes advantage of the views and the indoor outdoor living so desirable in the modern world. The remainder of the ground floor offers an attractive hallway, separate dining room, shower room and utility.

The first floor offers a bright landing, giving access to three double bedrooms and a gorgeous bathroom offering a touch of luxury. The original master bedroom which enjoys the panoramic views has been improved with the addition of a balcony, a place to enjoy your morning coffee and take in the magnificent vista.

Last but not least, the loft has been converted to create a fourth double bedroom with ensuit bathroom and an abundance of eaves storage.

Outside

You might say that the main house is only matched by the beautiful outside space offered by this property. The garden is separated into a variety of areas offering different uses. Immediately to the front of the property is a generous patio, again taking advantage of the distant views. There are several mature gardens with a variety of planting and lawned areas. A generous vegetable plot for the green fingered amongst you.

A gated drive leads down to a paddock/meadow and several outbuilding including a large open store, double garage or Stable depending on your need and a further smaller stable. The drive has recently been improved allowing vehicular access.

Lastly you have a further outbuilding, a much older building with two floors which has power and water and is currently used as a store. This property had planning consent previously to convert the building to a dwelling and would make an excellent AirB&B or Office.

The planning consent that was granted in 2015 for the loft conversion also included the permission mentioned above and a further extension on the left of the property, currently hallway and shower room.

Direction:
From the Ironbridge Office, proceed along High Street merging into The Wharfage. At the mini roundabout outside the co-op store turn right in to Dale Road. Continue all the way up the road through the traffic lights continuing up Jiggers Bank. At the roundabout take the third exit onto the A416 and continue along to the next round about. Stoney Hill is on the right just before the roundabout however you will have you go to the roundabout and come back on yourself. Follow Stoney Hill / Crackshall Lane and at the fork bear right and through the gate. The drive will bend to the left.
