It is thought that Gravel Hill House dates back to the 18th Century, and it still showcases many original features from this period. The property is located within easy walking distance of Ludlow, renowned for its history and culture as well as local produce and fantastic restaurants.

The Grade II listed property is a fine example of Georgian design and is typical of its type, with the dominant redbrick exterior. Approach to the property is through a gated private drive, which provides access to a tarmacked area with parking for many vehicles.

The approach to the main entrance is flagged, with low level hedging in flower beds either side. Through the front door and into the reception hall which has a number of striking original features including the original Oak flooring and brass service bells. You immediately enter the formal dining room which is thought to be where the kitchen was located originally, and still has the kitchen cupboard from this Georgian period.

Off the hallway is the living room, an impressive room which runs the whole depth of the house. This room has a feature fireplace which houses a wood burning stove, bay window and views out over the garden. A good-sized study is accessed from the reception hall and hallway, again with feature fireplace. Stairs next to the study lead down to the cellar with wine store and workshop.
A door from here also provides access to the outside.

Passing through the dining room one reaches the wonderful kitchen/breakfast room. The breakfast area features the original bread oven, and fireplace with wood burning stove. Up a couple of oak steps is the stunning kitchen with feature beams and vaulted ceiling. This fabulous room has an excellent range of base and wall mounted units with granite worktops and a gas fired Aga.

Opposite the kitchen/breakfast room is a large utility room, and a large boot room which has a WC. The passage provides access to the garden and driveway. Stairs rise to the potential seventh bedroom/sewing room with built in storage.

From the main reception hall, stairs rise to the first floor where one can find the master bedroom, comprising the main bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The ensuite includes his and hers sinks, rolltop bath, shower, WC and bidet. Two further double bedrooms are served by the family bathroom, again with bath, separate shower, WC and bidet. A secret staircase from bedroom 2, takes you down a couple of steps into the sewing room/seventh bedroom. Also found on this floor is a large airing cupboard.

From the first floor landing, stairs rise to the second floor where you find three further large double bedrooms, one with ensuite. This bathroom can be also accessed from the hallway if required. All bedrooms throughout the property have original feature fireplaces. The views out from this top floor are incredible and include views of the castle.

Outside, the garden is approximately 1/3 of an acre, the delightful walled garden is populated with a variety of shrubs & mature trees including a copper beech tree which has a tree protection order.

The garden is partly laid to lawn with a separate paved area, an ideal space for al fresco entertaining. A double garage is located at the end of the property with solar panels to the rear, which we are advised provide an income.

Connections in the area are good with the A49 linking the county town of Shrewsbury in the north, to the cathedral city of Hereford in the south. Ludlow has a train station on the main Manchester to Cardiff line with trains running to London at regular intervals, changing once at Newport. The surrounding countryside is breath-taking and offers many leisure and recreational opportunities with fine walks and horse riding on the door step.

From the Ludlow office, turn right and then left into Tower Street. Pass the shops and continue over the traffic lights along Gravel Hill. Gravel Hill House is situated on the right hand side just before the hospital.
